Software build 2.8.4 (1722) for Lifesize Icon systems paired with Lifesize Cloud was pushed to production on 2 February 2016 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Under degrading network conditions, some customers were seeing a "Packet loss" or a “Severe packet loss" message for a range of video framing or transcoding errors. Where no video packets were being received, a "Total Packet Loss" message was displayed.
Software build 2.8.4 adds more descriptive messages based on the severity of the network degradation, and where video packets are not being received, the length of time a call continues and what system actions take place, if any.
Starting with software build 2.8.4 for Lifesize Icon systems paired with Lifesize Cloud, we continue to log call statistics, but the UI message is changed as shown below:
- Low packet loss – No action is taken
- Medium packet loss – UI overlay message “Network Congestion Detected….” is displayed. No additional action taken.
- High packet loss – UI overlay message “Network Congestion Detected….” is displayed. No additional action taken.
- Total packet loss – UI overlay message “Connection Lost, Please Wait …” is displayed. If the condition persists for 15 seconds, the call is terminated.
Handle "Total Packet Loss" with update message and call termination. (JIRA: ICON-283)
