Lifesize Icon Flex

I'm not sure if anyone noticed this last week but we updated Lifesize Icon Flex software to solve the Skype for Business and Microsoft Lync 2013 issues. The problem was Icon Flex with Phone was not recognized by these two applications as both a video camera and an audio source. Something Microsoft did in their applications where a number of USB peripheral vendors were affected.


That's not really my point as we did post this software to our Lifesize Software portal and we will push out the Lifesize Patch Update email next week to inform partners/customers of its availability.


What I really wanted to highlight was if you have already upgraded your Lifesize Icon Flex to version 2.5.1 and you have it connected to the network with Internet access your Icon Flex automatically updated to version 2.5.2 over the weekend!


This is our Automatic Software Update feature released in version 2.5.1. You do not have to have a Lifesize Cloud subscription for this to work although we do use the Cloud as our backend to perform the function. Also, you do not have to have Lifesize Phone for your network access to work. Phone makes it easy to identify your IP address but you can also look it up in your Icon Flex folder on your PC. Just make sure your plug your Icon Flex to the network. It's that simple.


Once you have the IP address you can access the administrative web interface and change a number of preferences for Icon Flex including language, network, directory and camera settings to name a few.
