In some cases, customers will want to integrate and Icon600/800 with a 3rd-party microphone solution, while still using the PhoneHD or 2nd Gen Phone's excellent UI to control the Icon.  Here are some tips to accomplish that:

On the Icon 800, you can enable "Integrated Audio" mode from the by browsing in to the Icon 800.  You will find this setting under the Audio Preferences.  This option is also available on the Icon 600, but you must use the command line interface to enable/disable Integrated Audio mode.  See intructions for the Icon 600 below.

Integrated Audio mode is intended to be used when the Icon is integrated with 3rd-party microphones and DSP.  In otherwords, the DSP is handling all of the echo cancellation and gain control.  Enabling Integrated Audio on the Icon makes the following changes:

  • Disables AEC, noise reduction, and gain control on Icon’s line in so as not to conflict with external processor
  • Disables microphone on PhoneHD or 2nd Genration Phone
  • Disables volume controls on the Icon user interface
  • The touch screen on the PhoneHD or 2nd Generation Phone can still be used to control the Icon.

Enable/Disable Integrated Audio mode on Icon 600:

Ssh to the Icon using Putty or similar:

username= admin

password= admin

To enable Integrated Audio mode on the Icon. From the command line:

rbsh> Audio setIntegratedAudio on

To disable Integrated Audio mode on the Icon. From the command line:

rbsh> Audio setIntegratedAudio off

Query for status:

rbsh> Audio getIntegratedAudio
