In some cases, customers will want to integrate and Icon600/800 with a 3rd-party microphone solution, while still using the PhoneHD or 2nd Gen Phone's excellent UI to control the Icon.  Here are some tips to accomplish that:

If you are using a DSP for echo cancellation, you will want to enable Integrated Audio mode on the Icon.  Enabling Integrated Audio mode makes the following changes on the Icon:

Disables AEC, noise reduction, and gain control on Icon’s line in so as not to conflict with external processor

Disables microphone on PhoneHD or 2nd Genration Phone

Disables volume controls on the Icon user interface

The touch screen on the PhoneHD or 2nd Generation Phone can still be used to control the Icon.

If you are using a mixer with no echo cancellation, you will want to enable SetForceLineInMic mode on the Icon.  Enabling ForceLineIn mode makes the following changes on the Icon:

Line-in is treated as a microphone source.  Audio will pass from Line-in during calls

AEC remains enabled on the Icon and is applied to the Line-in source

On the Icon 800, you can enable "Integrated Audio" mode from the by browsing in to the Icon 800.  You will find this setting under the Audio Preferences.

Integrated Audio mode is also available on the Icon 600, but you must use the command line interface to enable/disable Integrated Audio mode.
