  • Feature Alignment: Adding a meeting will assign the meeting creator as the moderator. [ANDROID-873] [IOS-1073]

This release provides several enhancements in the Admin Console. Admins can now import group contacts (up to 1,000). We have also changed meetings so that assigning a moderator is no longer optional when creating or editing a meeting from the Admin Console. The default moderator is the meeting owner. This release also fixes several bugs.

Outlook Add-in Fixes

The following issues have been addressed in this release:

  • Unable to install the Outlook Add-in with Microsoft Office 365 using the .exe or .msi installer. [OUTPLUG-6]
  • When signing into version 1.3.0.41 of the Outlook Add-in, an error message “Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel” is displayed. [OUTPLUG-9]

This release includes an update to the Lifesize iOS mobile app. It enables guest users dialing into a meeting from an iPad to enter a passcode, if required to enter the meeting.

Lifesize has added system alerts. After setting up alert notifications in the Admin Console, you can proactively monitor the health of your organization’s Icon conference room systems and address issues before starting a meeting or conference event.

Lifesize provides quality improvements with this release. This release follows an earlier announcement that Lifesize will expand its UDP port usage to 10000 to 28000. Lifesize is now using UDP ports 10000 to 28000. See this community post for details.

 

If your company has implemented firewall policies that are specific to the port numbers used in Lifesize Cloud, and you have not updated your policy to include the new expanded range, you must do so now.

  • When joining a call in the Web App with IE or Chrome with no camera connected to the PC and the language selection is Japanese, the Join button on the call page is grayed out. [WEB-2405].

This release provides some important updates, as well as general improvements and fixes to the Lifesize desktop clients. Lifesize recommends that all customers upgrade their desktop and mobile apps to this latest release to ensure the best experience going forward.

Desktop Apps

The following issues have been addressed in this release.

  • Video has a strange appearance when using PC client with IconFlex and Cloud Client version 9.0.214.72642. [WIN-549]
  • Distorted video when adding or removing a second webcam. [WIN-641]
  • The desktop app for Windows client is not receiving video from the Lifesize Cloud client. [WIN-964]
  • No video is rendered on Lifesize Cloud client via Display Link USB display. [WIN-966]

  • Lifesize App users are now able to call a Skype for Business or Microsoft Lync user or add a Skype or Lync user to a meeting. [APP-700]

 

Release Date: November 23, 2016

Lifesize is providing a software update to provide general improvements and fixes for Lifesize customers. This release adds support for the Opus Audio Codec for improved audio quality. Customers must update their Lifesize software on the desktop clients, mobile apps, and video systems to get the Opus support.

This release supports CSV downloads. Admin users can export user, device and meeting data from the Admin Console to a comma separated value (CSV) file.

  • Increased stability for Windows users, fixing a previous bug that would intermittently crash the Desktop App after a long duration between calls. [WIN-693]
  • Removes ”upgrade video driver” message for users who have selected “Do not show this message again”. [WIN-932]
  • Increased stability for Windows users, fixing a previous bug that would intermittently crash the Desktop App when exiting full screen. [WIN-888]
