When it comes to hosting a meeting, especially with partners, prospects, and customers, the last thing you want to have happen is starting off on a bad note. Everyone has had that important meeting get derailed because of a glitch and before you know it, your sixty minutes to discuss an important topic has been reduced by a third (or more!).
Here at Lifesize, we understand how important it is to get all of your participants into a meeting as fast as possible – no matter if they are in the room or calling in from around the world. We also know that when you invite someone from outside your company to join a meeting on Lifesize Cloud that the goal is the same, even if they have never used the app before.
Based on feedback from our customers, we kicked off a research effort to test where guest callers were having trouble and then tested ways to reduce these trouble points. We’re pleased to provide a sneak peek at a new and improved way to join a meeting that we plan on releasing soon.
Once released, when you send an email or calendar invitation and a guest user that is using our Lifesize Cloud Web App on Chrome or Internet Explorer 11 clicks on the link, they’ll simply enter their name to get started. Then they will be able to set their camera options, audio and microphone levels (they can even set them to be remembered for next time), click “Join” and voila! They’re in their meeting!
For guest users that are not using our Lifesize Cloud Web App on Chrome or Internet Explorer 11, we redesigned our Call Me Page, which presents clear and simple ways for a user to join a call in a variety of other ways—from a Lifesize conference room system, by phone, desktop app or mobile app, or from a third-party conference room system. And if you have Skype for Business or Microsoft Lync, those options are available too!
We also gave our Downloads page a facelift, so now it’s easier than ever to quickly and easily download the Lifesize Cloud app that best suits your needs—Desktop (OS X or Windows), Mobile (iOS or Android), Web (Chrome or Internet Explorer 11) as well as our plug-ins—the Microsoft Outlook Add-in and Google Chrome Extension.
On a final note, we have work in progress that will allow users that do not have a web camera installed to be able to join a call through the Web App. This improvement will follow the join flow release.
We will post again once it’s released in the upcoming weeks. Please let us know what you think!
