With the release of the new Lifesize apps, we have added several new capabilities to help meeting moderators. Our customers have provided extensive feedback that when running an important or executive meeting, it is critical that disruptions are minimized. Our goal is to make sure that virtual meeting room (VMR) moderators can control their meetings as they see fit.

In additional to the mute changes that enable a moderator to control who can speak during a meeting, we are also making changes to how moderators can remove participants. Using the new web or desktop client, a moderator can now choose to remove individual participants or end the meeting for all.

With our next Icon software release we are making an additional change to when users can be removed from a meeting. Going forward you will not be able to remove participants from a VMR using the Icon unless that Icon is set as the moderator. This will help prevent accidental removals that have impacted several of our customers’ important meetings.

For users that still want to have this option, they can choose to set the Icon as the moderator of their VMR. In that case, only the Icon that is set as the moderator will have the option to remove participants. In the case of escalated calls, Icons will still have the capability to remove participants.

Thanks for your continued feedback. We hope these enhanced controls for moderators keep your meetings running smoothly!
