Great doc Gus and Team!
first of all thank you very much for creating this document!
Unfortunatly I have a question left open:
On page 8 you say "You’ll now be able to select which Office 365 User Account or Room Resource will be assigned to this Icon". So the calendar service only accesses the mailboxes of the defined ressources? Or like it's also written on page 8 "Read calendars in all mailboxes"?
Thanks in advance.
And what do you mean with "Read directory data". What is "directory data". Sorry for being so persistent but it is very important for us to know.
Thanks for the questions!
For 1: The service only queries mailboxes that have been paired to Icons in the next steps. If you'd like to take a more defensive posture, you could limit impersonation for the admin account you use to configure the initial integration. You could also grant the permissions in the post below to only the resource mailboxes you intend to pair to Icons:
Icon calendar alerts not working w/ Office 365
For 2: The directory access is needed so that you can search your mailboxes when you decide to pair an Icon to a particular mailbox.
thanks for your reply. In the meantime I talked to some network and o365 admins in our company about my plans. They are concerned about the data protection when it comes down to grant a third party cloud service rights in our environment. The question is what data do you store and where do you store it. With a view to the forthcoming european data protection regulation it is necessary for us to know these fact. Maybe you have a whitepaper regarding this case.
I am looking forward to your answer.
