Lifesize ended support for the legacy desktop app on May 31, 2018 – meaning that no new features or enhancements would be added and any issues would not be supported. Since that date, users have been able to continue using the legacy desktop app, but with a degraded meeting experience.

 

Starting October 31, 2018, Lifesize will officially end of life the legacy desktop app. This means that calls using the legacy desktop app will be disrupted and eventually will no longer connect to the Lifesize cloud-based service.

We strongly recommend that all customers who are still using the old desktop app make the switch prior to the end of life date.

 

Since the public launch of the new Lifesize web and desktop apps, Lifesize has continued to release new app features and enhancements to provide feature parity and an improved experience to customers. Highlights of these improvements include:

  • Support for far-end camera controls for both the web and desktop apps. Learn more.

  • Windows MSI file for the Lifesize desktop app. Learn more.
  • Chat notifications. Learn more.
  • Client-to-client direct media (Phased rollout in progress). Learn more.
