The phased rollout of direct media support for point-to-point calls using the Lifesize web and desktop apps is now complete.
With direct media, point-to-point calls using the Lifesize web and desktop apps will route media (audio, video and content) through your company’s network instead of relaying media through the Lifesize cloud-based service.
In February, we pre announced this release and provided important details regarding firewall changes required for customers with firewall policies in place. For more information about direct media or configuring firewall settings, refer to the resources below.

This first phase of the rollout enables direct media support for point-to-point calls between the new Lifesize web and desktop apps. Support for direct media is not available for the old Lifesize desktop app. If you are still using the old desktop app, be sure to download the new app to take advantage of the bandwidth and latency improvements that direct media provides.
Direct media support will also be extended to the Lifesize Icon series later this year.
If your network is not optimized for direct media or you have questions regarding network requirements, contact Lifesize support.
