please activate the antispam feature in 200 series too.
we are global customer with more than 40 endpoints and we are really disappointed that Lifesize has no solution for the Cisco attack in the last several months.
I wouldn't say that lifesize has no solution to this issue. We stopped the spamming entirely by putting our codecs behind our firewall and registering them to our clearsea server, this was a solution that Lifesize documented on their support page. These attacks have affected the entire industry and I'm sure most vendors solution to this issue would be similar.... Beyond blacklisting and maintaining an entire range of IP's that are attacking your codecs I'm not sure what else you can do to stop the attacks if you don't have a gateway of some sort that you can register your endpoints to.
Lifesize had new antispan solution for 220 series. I expected to have the same feature in legacy endpoint like 200 series.
it should be easy to impliment. The Clearsea and UVC platform is good solution but only when you have enough resources and budget. As Lifesize's customer in the last 8 years I would like to have the antispam in legacy endoints.
UVC ClearSea is free for any Lifesize device and up to 2 non-lifesize devices.
If you want to avoid spams in a similar way it is performed for 220 and Icon series, you can implement some rules on your firewall to allow incoming H.323/SIP call exclusively from known IP addresses.
As you said, 200 series are legacy endpoints. For this reason I think chances Lifesize decides to implement this new functionality are really small.
I confirm there are no plans to add anti-spam on any other endpoints series than Icons and 220s.
The solution for legacy endpoints is as Pierre explained, to hide them behind a UVC ClearSea server, and allow communications on your local firewall only with the IP of the UVC CSS. UVC CSS is free as long as you register only Lifesize endpoints.
