Today S4B/Lync users can join Cloud VMRs.
This request is about extending the integration by allowing PtP calls between S4B/Lync users and Cloud subscribers.
I totally agree. The whole Lifesize solutions are built to be intuitive and to call people and not numbers. It would be great to keep this philosophy regardless of the endpoint, making a single global intuitive UX from any UI.
Also agree whole-heartedly. We've had this request from a number of our users
Our Engineering is working towards achieving this request. There have been some progress in this area and we are targeting towards end of November.
You will see the ability for Skype for Business and Lync users to directly call a Lifesize Cloud user or pair Icon/220 endpoint in our next release this month (November.)
Michael I have seen that this has now been added to the Call Me page however there is no mention of it in the What's New.
Is there a place that we can see a full list of new features added to Cloud as the What's New does not seem to be updated regularily?
It will be updated when the launch actually goes live which should happen over this weekend. My answer here is speaking to this launch that is in process.
What is the process to follow to see this in operation?
A skype customer should be able to click on the SIP URI for a cloud user, and as long as their Cloud account is entitled with Skype for business support (e.g. Enterprise and Premium accounts), then the Skype for Business client should place a call directly to the Cloud user.
What is an example of the SIP URI?
Whose Cloud account is entitled? The person being called?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
This is not yet totally "delivered" as long as only P2P calls from S4K to LS are available.
The other way LS > S4B would be very appreciated.
Thomas, the other flow, from Lifesize to Skype for business is much more complex. The Microsoft bridging AVMCU, is directly connected into the application which can result in call scenarios that will fail in ways that will be confusing for users.
What we have delivered is the scope that we have planned.
Thanks Michael for this answer.
Is it planned ?
