When is this going to be fixed? Joining from the mobile app as a guest user is a really disconnected messy experience ever since the new version was released. Where did the “I have the app” button go?
We've recently updated the calling details browser page. If you're on a mobile phone, the mobile section is now shown at the top. Are you experiencing this issue when tapping on the "Call now" link, circled in red below? Tapping "Call now" should open the app to the Guest login form with the extension pre-populated. Please let me know what you are experiencing if this behavior is not what you are seeing. Is the issue that this text is not prominent enough for guests?
All the best, Whitney
So it appears that the “I have the app” link is only in the “Other Ways” link. Why can it not be in the main link to join the meeting in a browser based call as well? To be honest, the majority of the time, I remove the link to the “Other Ways” page in our invites because most people don’t know what its for or click on it by accident and then not know what to do. When you try the main link from a mobile device, it presents you with a page that tells you to install the mobile app; it would make sense to add “I have the app, join now” there as well, like it used to be. Seeing as we can’t customize our own invitation templates, this is now something else that I need to explain to users that want to use a tablet or phone to connect to meetings.

Ok, I understand where you are experiencing this issue now. Thank you for the feedback! I'll see about optimizing that top link to recognize mobile browsers as well. In the mean time, we very recently redesigned the "Other Ways" page to make this more intuitive to users for the exact reason you experienced with guests not understanding the Other Ways to call, if you're willing to give that link another shot with your users, we'd love to hear your feedback.
Actually I don’t agree with this user but one of our faculty members today said that page was not intuitive. 99.9% of our calls are browser based and after that its mobile users. If I can use the other ways page selectively, I would rather use one link and add the mobile app connectivity back to the browser link. I don’t see anything wrong with having the mobile option available in both links. The way it stands now, if you access the browser link from a mobile device, it prompts you right to the app installation so it’s not the same experience as accessing the other ways page from a Mac or PC anyways. If you just added “I have the mobile app, call now”, that would be great and it would be one less link to share. I mainly use the other ways page for 3rd party endpoints that need to call us. I would use it for Skype for business users as well but I’m not sure if they exist

Just circling back to this. I'm sure an update to the mobile apps are coming but I just realized that moving the " I have the app, Call Now" button to the other ways page creates an issue with people that currently send meeting invites from a mobile device. seeing as invites sent from the mobile app do not include the other ways link, anyone that wants to join from a mobile device will have no option of joining a meeting because the link for a browser based call no longer has an option to join using the app. I get the reason for the other ways page but i rarely have to use it and many of our users remove it before sending out invites. There really should be an option to join using either the mobile app or desktop client from the browser link as well, it would cover all your bases if this option was available in both links. The way it currently stand, we are forced to include both links in invitations now which is confusing people. The other ways page is also making it easier for students to install the app which then makes it easier for our students to sign in as registered users and we do not have 20,000 licenses to hand out to all of our students. Guest users are also installing the app unnecessarily when they stumble upon the Other Ways link.
