I intened to place a Team 200 in four locations and be able to utilize the MCU from any site. Do I need more bandwith then a T1 can provide? I have 3 sites with T1's and one with a T3.
A LifeSize system will always adapt itself to the bandwidth that is available.
So if you have 1.5Mbps at your site, and a Team200, then:
- when you place a first call, it will use 1Mbps, and you will achieve 720p30.
- when you add a second participant, you will use 750Kbps for each leg, and achieve a lower resolution.
- finally when you add your third participant, you split your 1.5Mbps in 3, so you get 512Kbps per leg, achieving something about SD quality.
So briefly speaking, it works, but it is not optimal.
In your scenario, I would definitely recommend to use the T3 site as the host of the conference, and have the T1 sites join as leaf sites. Then you get a 3-way conference, with 1Mbps per leg and 720p30 for everyone.
