Are there any web based conferencing services (Skype) that we can use with our on-premises Lifesize system? We only have one employee we need to have call in remotely and do not want to purchase a block of 10 cloud licenses.
Though it's not web based, have you considered Lifesize Softphone? This is a piece of software that you can run on a Windows or OSX computer and allows you to make video calls. It's more suitable for use in environments where you have control over the network (such as in offices or at home) than where you don't (such as on public hotspots or in hotels) as it doesn't include firewall traversal functionality like Lifesize Cloud does.
You can find more about it at the following web page:
Desktop Video Conferencing Software | Lifesize Softphone
You can get a free 30-day trial of the software too so you can test without risk and make sure it's right for you.
Let us know what you think.
Thank you. How does the cost structure work?

Kim, you can purchase Softphone licenses by the unit, and you assign one license per computer (Windows or MacOS), on a fixed basis.
With Softphone you just buy a licence for however many copies you want to use (in your case just the one!). There's no ongoing subscription or anything like that other than if you chose to get Lifesize Assurance Services (which is recommended as it gets you technical support and software upgrades etc).
You buy it through your regular reseller, or any Lifesize reseller of course.
Great. This sounds like it will work.
Just to elaborate on one of Garrick's comments, Lifesize Softphone does not inlcude a firewall traversal mechanisms, since it is not a client-server solution. If your remote worker is on a different site, and you want to use the Internet to carry the video call, you will need to assign a public IP to the PC where you install the Softphone, just as you would do with a traditional video endpoint. This can also be achieved with Static NAT (static public IP on FW/router, and static private IP on PC).
