I saw that 1080p datasharing was introduced in Cloud, but I did not find info about having FullHD video communication there. Could you please confirm?
Thanks and Regards,
We are experimenting with higher bandwidth levels in Cloud. It is a balance between higher quality where bandwidth permits and potential performance issues for customers in more constrained environments. We will continue working toward enabling sufficient bandwidth to get to 1080p video.
the maximum resolution Cloud delivers is 720p 60 for video and 1080p for content.
That is correct for multipoint calls on Cloud.
You can achieve a bit more during point to point calls between 2 Icons with H264 High Profile enabled (by default), something around 1500x900, matching the 1.1Mbps limit per call.
is there a perspective for having 1080p on cloud in the future?
Many of our customers are going to have 70-85 inch LCD panels as a beamer replacement.
Is there any progress on this topic?
I would also like to know if there is any progress on 1080p30 calls. We have been selling the 1080p equipment now for ages and when moving from UVC to Cloud people do see the downgrade (for those that had 1080p set in UVC). It would be good to know that this is coming at some point. Marek's comment about getting 1.1Mb pt-to-pt calls is not one that a lot of people know about. The marketing advantage of just being able to do Full HD is a bonus. For me the 720p60 setup is really good. I think that a paper on the benefits/costs of different resolutions/frame rate and bandwidth would be helpful. I always find that clients respond well to being informed on this topic and are quite willing to see that 720p60 is a really good 'middle ground'.
