just wondering if there is any official information on such detail.
they are like two different world, SIP vs H.323.
Any endpoint on Cloud can receive calls on both H.323 and SIP from anyone and can place H.323 and SIP calls to anyone with a video address that can be resolved on the internet (i.e. it's not a private IP address)
Both Lifesize Cloud and UVC Multipoint support SIP and H.323 protocols.
We don't have a competitive analysis only between Lifesize Cloud and UVC Multipoint because Lifesize Cloud is much more than just a MCU.
If you want to compare Lifesize Cloud with traditional On Premise infrastructure, the following competitive analysis may be useful:
but when the endpoint has joined to the cloud, it can only call out to the H.323/IP endpoint but not the other way around, right?
Lifesize Cloud is an interoperable service that works with standard H.323 and SIP video systems and infrastructure. And also with Skype for Business / Microsoft Lync 2013 / Lync Online.
You can call a Lifesize Cloud user from a H.323/SIP video system, Lifesize Cloud app, guest client or telephone

but when we join a room220 to cloud, the h.323 is unchecked and grey.
and we can't call the 220 by IP before.
will that be something to do with the cloud admin,
as the account we used on the 220 is not an admin account.
Ben, a Cloud registered 220 can be called over the public internet by dialing it's email@example.com (firstname.lastname@example.org), the IP address of the Cloud node ## extension (188.8.131.52##1234 however not all manufacturers support this method), or by simply dialing lifesizecloud.com or the IP address of the Cloud node and then entering the extension after the IVR greeting. We do not recommend using a public IP address on a Cloud registered 220 as it is not necessary to receive calls from the internet and make the system vulnerable to spam attacks.
