Can you please advise if the users of 2nd Generation phone can use it as an audio conference device when connected to a VOIP PBX such as Avaya CM 5.3.9?
What is the required setup to use it for audio conferences only?
The 2nd generation phone does not support standalone registration to a PBX as the 1st generation phone did. However, if you're using a 2nd gen phone with a LifeSize codec (ICON or 220) you can register the codec to the PBX and then the codec becomes an extension with both audio calls and video calls being supported simultaneously.
You can find some examples of registrations here: SIP Registrations
