LifeSize 220 & Icon series won't consume any video ports but will the old legacy LifeSize endpoints consume any video ports on LifeSize ClearSea server?
When a 220 or icon is paired with Clearsea, it will consume video ports on your clearsea server, I think it has always been that way. If older lifesize endpoints or 3rd party codecs are paired with a clearsea server as an associated device, they will also consume ports. I think cloud functions differently in that an icon or 220 don't consume a cloud license
Did some testing. Icon series, 220 series and LifeSize Multipoint did not consume any video ports. LifeSize Video application and 3rd party video conferencing devices did consume video ports.
Still need to test the legacy units.
You know what? You are correct! I didn’t notice that until now, I wonder if Pre-3.0 worked the same way. I figured a registered account is a registered account and device wouldn't make a difference. I know the one change that was made on 3.0 was the port usage on Multipont. UVC multipoint used to treat a multiway clearsea call as a single call but now it counts every device in the call as a MCU port.
