To address customers who already owned a third party Video endpoint, is it possible and allowed to register such device to LS cloud as their primary endpoint ?

This is not something we currently support at the moment. There is an idea on this concept at the link below if you would like to vote on it:
3rd party endpoint registration (H.323, SIP, H.460, etc) in Cloud
Typically, I recommend that customers with 3rd party devices configure a local directory entry for "lifesizecloud.com". This will reach the Cloud auto-attendant in all cases, and the user can then enter the extension they would like to connect with using DTMF. (Very similar to how audio conferences operate). On the other side, the customer can also enter a global Cloud directory entry that points to the ip address of the third party system. This assumes that 3rd party system is accessible from the public internet of course.
