Does there already exist or is there a plan to release a LifeSize plug-in for Outlook 2016 for Mac?
Steve, we are still investigating how to support Outlook 2016 for Mac. Will keep you posted when we have an update to share.
Do you know if Microsoft added support for plug ins for Outlook 2016 on a MAC? Prior versions of Outlook for MAC did not support plug ins at all.
Thank you for your response but unfortunately it really doesn't answer my question. The primary answer on this link stated:
"Currently there is no support for plug-ins in Outlook for Mac", and AFAIK there has been no indication that Microsoft will add this support option."
This is may have been true at the time it was written in 2012 but since then WebEx Productivity tools were at least released for Outlook 2011 and now 2016. I was hoping to find a similar solution for LifeSize.
Created an idea to document and track this (I am a MAC user and cast the first vote).
It looks like traditional plug ins are not possible but Apple scripts are with limited functionality.
Just to tie the two together for those seeing this, here is the link to the idea.
Add an Outlook plug in for MAC

The obstacle to this continues to be that Microsoft does not support a plugin architecture for Outlook on the Mac. If you search for this on the internet you will find that this has been a frequently requested feature of Microsoft for years including the new 2016 version. There may be a path toward this with Office 365 addins for Outlook online in the future, but I haven't found any indication that Microsoft has changed their plans and enabled support for plugins on Outlook 2016 installed on the Mac.
Although I have read some similar articles on this, the WebEx Productivity Tool add-in for Outlook 2011 and Outlook 2016 for Mac seems to have found a way to be incorporated into Outlook.
We're looking into what webex is doing to see if that approach could work with Cloud.
Do you have an update for this as I am getting asked by a customer quite a lot.
We are continuing to look at how we could effectively implement this plug-in. Unfortunately, we do not have this planned for development as of yet. We will update when we have more information to share.
