Could someone provide us that Using codec without camera and microphone as VideoCenter's encorder is allowed?

Let me know Lifesize's design?

We love to use Express 220 as VideoCenter's automatic encoder. We add "automatic starting recording" setting and "recording far side" setting to Exp220, then place it in the data center or server room. If user want to use recording function, they just add encoder Exp220 to their conference.

However, I am wondering that Using codec without camera and mic is valid? (We hope to save physical space in the data center.)
