How to config the Phone HD that is not in cloud ? or it's not support yet ?
Jon, you can use the Phone HD with Icon 400,600,800 independent of a Cloud account. The customization feature of the Phone HD display widgets is delivered only through the administrative console of the Cloud account. Phone customization is a feature Icon + Phone HD only gets with Cloud.
The Phone HD is only supported with Lifesize Cloud attached to a Lifesize Icon Series™ conference room system.
Seriously? So if you are using Lifesize units without Lifesize Cloud, you are completely unable to use the Lifesize Phone HD? This isn't mentioned in documentation anywhere that I've seen.
Ahh, okay. That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. Are there any other limitations of using the Lifesize Phone HD without a Lifesize Cloud account? For instance, setting the time zones? Background? etc.
Screen customization is the one that is controlled through the Cloud account administrative console. That includes setting the widgets on the home screen, adding any custom widget/speed dials, and setting the time zones.
So if I'm understanding you correctly, you can't set any favorites on the phone without a Lifesize Cloud account? And if you can't set the time zones... what are they set to? It sounds like unless you pay for Lifesize Cloud, the Lifesize Phone HD is a worthless upgrade due to the fact that you can't actually manage the device?
Hi Jon, luckily you should still be able to mark favorites from the Phone HD. All you need to do is favorite one of your last calls from the recents or from the directory.
The ability to change time zones and customize buttons required a more advanced interface than is available on the Icon standalone, this is why the customization aspects are in the Cloud Admin Console. Without the Cloud integration you still have a vastly improved phone over the previous model with an excellent microphone array and speaker with a multitouch interface.
To be honest, that's kind of BS that you can't set time zones with a Lifesize Cloud account, even from the command line interface. Adding the ability to set which time zones are displayed is a simple feature to add, and would make the Lifesize Phone HD worth buying without a Lifesize Cloud membership. Without the ability to change time zones, all the other features are nullified as a result. I don't care what time it is in Austin, Texas or Singapore; and that only breeds confusion for my end users.
