Issues w/ Internet Explorer updating Room 220 / Express 220 software

We were significantly behind in updating the software for our two LifeSize Room 220 and Express 220 systems.  The update application via browser didn't like the version of Internet Explorer we were using - latest via Windows 10.  We had to scrounge around, and found a Win7 machine;  Going thru the process with the Win7 laptop, we were successful in uploading software to both Codecs and the update installed ok.   Success included curing an issue with the Express system - no video on the presentation channel.


Was the Internet Explorer rejection a result of the software on the Codec being so out-of-date (we were about two years behind the version we installed today.)?
