If you have no access to the web UI, how do you reset the codec, as I can't see any physical buttons?
I've now found an option from the Phone HD to reset; is this the only other way?
Any ways to revert software?
Thank you for reaching out with regards to resetting an Icon. Right not the ability to reset is buried and far out of the way of normal user behavior to prevent accidental resets. The phone HD is the only way to reset a 700 uand will remain so until we are ready to make changes for this process. Thank you for your patience!
I don't think the reset procedure is buried away from normal user behaviour at all! All you need to do on the Phone HD is enter System, and then scroll across to reset everything; at no point do you need to enter a PIN?! Surely the PIN number set for the 'Phone HD PIN' should be required?
Thank you Pete, I'm passing your feedback along to our product and UI design team to get an update on the plan for the reset workflow. Right now, users are presented with a very clear warning prior to a reset with clear messaging that this is a destructive step to the current setup. I will let you know any new plans for change once I have a response.
Unfortunately it'll only be a matter of time before someone does it anyway; not sure what the Phone HD PIN is for, if it isn't for this? Hopefully to stop this happening!
One of the things I always point out to reassure people in training sessions, to not be afraid and have a go, is that you can't mess anything up using the phone/remote, as there aren't any settings you can change....now that's far from the case!
